North Shore

At a Glance

Oahu’s North Shore famous for its world-class surf breaks is known as the proving grounds for the world's elite surfers. During the Summer months enjoy beautiful flat lake-like conditions perfect for diving, snorkeling, sailing, kayaking, and stand-up paddleboarding. Then during the winter surf season, October through March, the ocean comes alive with incredible huge open ocean swells and surfers from around the world come to compete in the Vans Triple Crown of Surfing. Away from the Hustle & bustle of Honolulu and Waikiki, the local people refer to the North Shore as the “Country”. The North Shore takes in the area from Mokuleia in the west, arcing eastward to end in Laie. Traveling through these locales, which include hillside and oceanside communities, you're usually on 2 lane roads surrounded by an environment that is definitively rural. You're a world away from the crowded beaches of Waikiki. Historic Haleiwa Town is the gateway to the North Shore. Mixed with mom-and-pop shops, restaurants, art galleries, boutiques, shopping centers, and surf shops create the hub of the community. The spirit of Aloha is alive and strong on the North Shore.
